The Taffetas @ CDT

Read Time:1 Minute, 27 Second

taffetas_0The Taffetas, a musical revue featuring a female quartet (L to R): Debra Qualtire (Kaye), Lacy Sauter (Cheryl), [Lizz Reeves Fidler] (Donna), and Laura Webb (Peggy), will play at the Copperstate Dinner Theater. It’s 1950-something and Kaye, Peggy, Cheryl and Donna –four singing sisters from Muncie, Indiana –are making their national television debut. “Spotlight on Music,”a fictitious weekly program on the real-life Dumont Television Network, is the framework for an evening featuring some of the greatest hits of the ‘50s. This isn’t the Elvis ’50s, but the years before rock ‘n’ roll changed the world. A nostalgic nod to girl groups of the era, The Taffetas pays tribute to the sounds of The Maguire Sisters, The Fontaine Sisters and The Chordettes. The Taffetas opened Off-Broadway on April 9, 1989 at the Cherry Lane Theatre (New York) and ran for 165 performances.

The Taffetas will play at the Copperstate Dinner Theater, 3801 E. Washington inside the Phoenix Greyhound Park. Performances are Friday & Saturday evenings dinner 6:30, curtain 8:00. And Sunday Supper Shows with dinner 5:30 and curtain 7:00. The ticket price for all performances is only $32.95 per person which includes dinner and the show as well as tax and gratuity. Dinner is a sit-down service, not buffet. With a choice of four delicious entrees: prime rib, grilled salmon filet, teriyaki chicken breast, and vegetable lasagna. Meals come with side dishes, salad with choice of dressing, rolls and butter. Appetizers, desserts and beverages are extra. A full bar is available.

Forever Plaid With Two X Chromosomes! Directed by Debra Qualtire (Kaye). Musical Direction by Russ Noble (Buddy). Call (602) 279-3129 for Reservations!
